A natural region is one which exhibits a rough uniformity of physical features, such as relief, geo-morphological history, drainage, climate, natural vegetation, animal life and soils, in relation to the adjoining regions. There are four regions of first order in India: The Himalayan Mountain Complex, The North Indian Plain, The Peninsular Plateau and The Islands.
